Is that a prediction?

I have read one hadith of acquiring knowledge that says to seek knowledge even if it is in China. I am not sure of the authenticity of this hadith but this hadith definitely indicates the current prosperity of China. I was wondering is this Hadith a prediction of prosperous and controlling the world market of china? Did the prophet knew about it? I don't simply believe that china was mentioned in this hadith only because it was further from Arab at that time and also it was known for the center of science and industry during our prophet's time. I believe China will have something to do with our religion in the near future.
