My personalizing of the surah Nas verse 4 & 5. the verse 4 and 5 are as follows
2) Asking the question to ourselves what are the whispers of satan? Is it the thoughts that comes to our mind? what type of thoughts are considered as whispers of satan?
3) Does the verse #5 " who whispers into the heart of mankind" advising us to be watchful of our own train of thoughts? Does it has something to do with distractions we may encounter in every day? Because thoughts do take us from one avenue to others. If that is true, then those thoughts also acts as a means of distraction.
4) Now if we look at the verse 4, it says " from the mischief of the whisperer ( of evil) who withdraws ( after his whisper)" the word "withdraws" , "the mischief" and " the whisperer" are interesting. i think it whispers and go away to see what we human do, do we act on what he just whispered to us? and then comes back again. This act of coming and going back might be "withdraws". And yes, if we act upon our thinking bubbles then of course the mischief is unavoidable.
I wonder if these "whispers" also applies to mental illness where patients hear inner voices. How can they be aware of this facts? if so, will it be cured by "believing"in Allah and his words? will it be cured by understanding these mechanism of satan's whispers?
